The Alpenhof is located right in the centre of Niederau – the sunny gateway to Wildschönau. From here you start directly into your holiday: walking distance to Markbachjochbahn, just minutes to Schatzbergbahn and in the middle of Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau with 109 km of pistes.
In summer you are within minutes of the most beautiful hiking trails and alpine pastures in the Tyrolean mountains – from easy valley walks to demanding peak tours. Whether skiing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking or simply relaxing – the Alpenhof is the perfect starting point for every alpine holiday.

Niederau – Gateway to the Wildschönau
Your holiday village is Niederau, the first village of the Wildschönau, immediately recognisable by its pointed church tower and the local mountain behind it, the Markbachjoch.
In summer, a popular starting point for hikes and a paradise for paragliders. Popular hiking destinations include the Kasalm, Norderbergalm, Rosskopf and the Feldalphorn. Your host is happy to give you tips and recommendations!
The High Valley
Oberau, Auffach & Thierbach
In Oberau, the striking 250-year-old baroque parish church shapes the village scene. An outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, and the high ropes course in the “Zauberwinkel” offer plenty of variety.
Auffach is the starting point for hikes to the Schönangeralm and the Wood Museum. Thierbach, the smallest village, is a romantic destination. And don’t forget to try the Wildschönau “Krautinger” schnaps!
Winter
Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau
Since 2012 the Ski Juwel has been shining in the Tyrolean Alps: 109 kilometres of pistes, 47 lifts, 24 traditional ski huts and three snowparks. The Schatzbergbahn gondola is right on our doorstep!
Plus toboggan runs on the Lanerköpfl and Schatzberg, and 50 km of groomed cross-country skiing trails. Nordic skiing is back in trend!
